One day while Cindy was having her prosthetic eye adjusted by Daphne Archibald, , she met a little boy who had lost his eye due to retinoblastoma. He was having his prosthetic eye adjusted as well and he refused to wear an adhesive eyepatch as he said it hurt to be removed and it was too hot under the patch. Cindy showed him her eyepatch that was attached to her glasses and he liked that option much better. He said he liked race cars, so Cindy designed him a special eyepatch with a bright red race car. Knowing there were more children out there in the same situation, Cindy developed a line of children’s eyepatches that are colourful and fun. Each eyepatch is handmade by Cindy.
